Summary of Department
In our department, we treat almost all disease of the breast, including breast cancer, other breast tumors (e.g. fibroadenoma, phyllodes tumor, intraductal papilloma, etc.) and breast inflammatory disease.
We treat early and advanced breast cancer patients with multidisciplinary approaches, including surgery, systemic therapy (chemotherapy, endocrine therapy and target therapy) and radiotherapy. We try to select the most appropriate therapy from among several candidates based on the tumor characteristics and patients’ preferences. We always try to provide evidence- and narrative-based medicine to ensure patients' satisfaction.
We perform breast-conserving surgery as well as total mastectomy with or without breast reconstruction. For clinically node-negative patients, a sentinel lymph node biopsy is the standard approach. For systemic therapy, we also provide standard therapy with consideration of the tumor subtype.
In order to further improve the prognosis of breast cancer, the development of new therapeutic strategies will be necessary. Therefore, we participate in a number of clinical trials in order to generate new evidence.
