Summary of Department
In operating room, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and other medical staff work together to provide team-based medical care. Anesthesiologist play a central role as conductors. We take care to ensure that surgery is performed safely, reliably and rapidly.
We interact with the patient on the day before surgery to become familiarized with their medical history and current medical condition. We then explain the method of anesthesia to the patient. On the day of surgery, we manage the general condition of the patient during surgery in order to ensure that the patient is receiving surgery at ease. In recent years, the rate of arthroscopic surgery has increased, and cases of anesthesia management using only general anesthesia have become more frequent. We reduce patients’ sensation of postoperative pain by selecting intravenous patient-controlled analgesia, epidural patient-controlled analgesia or peripheral nerve block, depending on the operation method and the patient's condition. Our goal is safe anesthesia and comfortable awakening, with a painless post-operative course. Our hospital is certified by the Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists.
