The main tasks of the pathology department are histopathology, cytology and autopsies, with an emphasis on daily conferences with clinical doctors.

A distinctive feature is that we are actively introducing genetic testing, which has become particularly important, into the pathological diagnosis. We strive to make the most advanced diagnosis and deliver the best treatment. To this end, the laboratory makes continuous efforts to improve the services provided to patients and medical staff, mainly doctors.

We believe that what we should strive for as the pathological diagnosis department of Kyushu's only cancer-specializing hospital is not only accurate and quick pathological diagnoses but also the quick application of the latest knowledge and technology in the pathology field to medical treatment. In the future, we will actively work on promoting cancer genomic medicine in the pathological field as well. We aim to deliver high-quality and prompt pathological diagnoses and vow to ensure our ongoing learning efforts.
